But there are as many types of vegetarians as there are reasons for following a vegetarian diet, so it’s possible to be an overweight “pastatarian.”Can you lose weight on a vegetarian diet? The answer is “Yes, but only if it’s a calorie- controlled vegetarian diet.” But if the vegetarian diet is too restrictive it may end up as just one more thing that didn’t “work” for losing weight.
